New Jersey State Senators Caught On Tape Mocking Gun Advocates After Hearing On Gun Control Bill [AUDIO]
Advocates of the Second Amendment in New Jersey are furious over remarks made by three N.J. state senators caught on microphone after hearings on gun control legislation held on Thursday, May 9.
After the session concluded, the first voice is heard saying, “We needed a bill that was going to confiscate, confiscate, confiscate.”
“They want to keep the guns out of the hands of the bad guys, but they don’t have any regulations to do it,” said a voice identified as Sen. Loretta Weinberg.
Another voice adds, “They don’t care about the bad guys. All they want to do is have their little guns, and do whatever they want with them.”
A third voice replies, “That’s the line they developed.”
The video reportedly identifies the voices in the recording to be Sen. Linda Greenstein, Sen. Sandy Cunningham and Sen. Loretta Weinberg.
Scott Bach, executive director of the Association of New Jersey Rifle and Pistol Clubs said to PolitickerNJ, "These are the words of gun ban extremists and unfortunately they have the ear of the Senate president right now. The bill package that is coming up Monday in the full Senate needs to be held."
Asked for comment, Sen. Weinberg stated, "Nothing in this package of bills 'confiscates.' If people want to inflame folks rather than advocating on the reality of the situation, I can't do anything about it,” when asked for comment by PolitickerNJ.
