New ‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’ Season 5 Trailer Teases Engagement And Catfights [VIDEO]
Secrets may be exposed, hair will be pulled, and love is in the air on the upcoming season of VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.” The network released a new teaser video for Season 5, premiering in April, giving fans another look at what’s in store for the cast.
The trailer begins with returning cast member Karlie Redd and boyfriend Lyfe Jennings sitting on a park bench, as he says: “I don’t want to give up on this.” The next shot is a close-up of a woman, presumably Karlie, holding a giant diamond engagement ring. As the trailer returns to Karlie and Lyfe sitting on the bench, the model seemingly faints, falling on the ground.
In another scene from the upcoming season, Karlie is seen sitting at a bar with former friend Joseline Hernandez. Joseline is holding a piece of paper in her hand as Karlie declares that she has “nothing to hide.”
“You’re evil,” Karlie says as Joseline smiles.
Fans are also introduced to new cast member D.Smith, who tells returning cast member Tammy Rivera that she’s transitioning from male to female. Tammy seems caught off-guard and shocked by D.Smith’s confession.
In yet another part of the trailer, one of the cast members is seen getting a drink tossed in her face at a restaurant. The scene quickly flashes to D.Smith’s friend and fellow “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” newbie Betty Idol sitting in a car yelling that someone pulled some of her hair out.
VH1 announced the full cast of Season 5 earlier this month, confirming that Stevie J, Joseline, Karlie, Mimi Faust and Tammy will be back. Also returning are Rasheeda Frost, Lil Scrappy, Bambi, Yung Joc, Momma Dee and Waka Flocka Flame.
As previously reported, K. Michelle announced she would be returning to the VH1 show during a concert in December, hinting to the crowd that she still had a few issues with one of her cast mates.
New cast members on “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” include D.Smith, Betty, Karen “KK” King and her sons Scrapp DeLeon and Sass, Sass’ girlfriend Tommie, and his ex Tiara.
“Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” Season 5 premieres April 4 at 8 p.m. EDT on VH1.
