Sledgehammer Games is planning this year to launch a new “Call of Duty” franchise title, and gaming site IGN grabbed a screenshot.

The game studio, based in Foster City, Calif., said at the Game Developers Conference in March at San Francisco's Moscone Center that the new shooter game took three years to create.

In related news, preorders for "Call of Duty: Ghosts" expansion map pack, “Devastation,” are now available in the PlayStation store for the PS3 and PS4. The official release date for the DLC pack is May 8. The "Devastation" DLC will cost $14.99.

Developer Infinity Ward, based in Woodland Hills, Calif., said last week that rapper Snoop Dogg will lend his voice to the popular first-person shooter. Players can now swap out the normal multiplayer announcer for Snoop's voice. Microsoft's Xbox Live got the feature on Tuesday.
