A leaker reveals that a new title in the “Silent Hill” franchise is coming and will be announced soon.
Fans of the popular horror franchise “Silent Hill” have been waiting for a long time for a new entry to arrive. The wait may soon end, however, as a notable leaker has claimed that a new “Silent Hill” game could be unveiled in the coming months.
A Twitter leaker who goes by the name AestheticGamer recently tweeted that a new “Silent Hill” game will be announced soon. Although the leaker didn't provide exact dates as to when that announcement will be, AestheticGamer, who has a history of providing accurate horror game news leaks, did give a few clues that might tell when the game will be revealed.
The leaker said the “two most likely times will be in August/September.” “August there is planned a [sic] State of Play in response to Microsoft's July event with new announcements,” AestheticGamer wrote.
Previous rumors claimed that Sony was planning on announcing the new “Silent Hill” game, which is a PS5 exclusive, alongside other games. The entertainment giant, however, didn't do so. GameRant noted that one major speculation about this is that the company didn't want to announce a new “Silent Hill” alongside “Resident Evil 8” at the same event.
Still, that is but a theory at the moment. Sony might have something else in store for fans – and that could be shown during the State of Play event in August.
The leaker also said that in “September there's a thing planned around TGS” or Tokyo Game Show. A quick look at the leaker's other tweets reveals that the new “Silent Hill” title is being developed by a Japanese game studio. If this is accurate, it simply makes sense for the Japanese-developed “Silent Hill” to be announced at the Japanese video game show.
That said, fans should consider that Sony and Konami, which owns the franchise, haven't said anything about the rumored horror title yet. Take the news with a grain of salt and wait for more updates as they come.
