The 2020 Trump reelection campaign Tuesday launched a website to help supporters argue with their “liberal snowflake” relatives at holiday gatherings.
SnowflakeVictory.com lists what President Trump sees as his accomplishments since taking office and attacks the impeachment process and positions the Democratic presidential hopefuls have taken on social issues.
"We've all seen the news articles about liberal snowflakes being afraid to see their MAGA relatives at Christmas or holiday gatherings, so the Trump campaign wants people to be ready," Kayleigh McEnany, Trump campaign national press secretary, said in a statement. "We're not helping snowflakes avoid arguments – we're helping Trump supporters win them! As 2019 draws to a close and 2020 approaches, President Trump and Americans are going to be winning, winning, and winning, and then winning some more!"
“How to win an argument with your liberal relatives,” the site boasts at the top and then lists talking points.
The site features the likes of Katrina Pierson and Lara Trump in videos talking about the topics, with soaring music playing in the background.
Click on “the Trump economy is strong,” and expanded text pops up talking about job creation, the unemployment rate and economic expansion.
“President Trump overcame the years of anemic economic growth we experienced under the Obama-Biden administration and we won’t go back—we can’t go back! Democratic-Socialist policies are contrary to the American way of life,” the site says, neglecting to mention the previous administration was grappling with the worst recession since the Great Depression.
Click on “Trump approach to healthcare much better than Dems, who would kill employer-provided heathcare,” and the expanded text criticizes of the Medicare-for-all plans promoted by Sens. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren but makes no mention that other Democrats favor adding a public option to Obamacare and leaving private insurance in place. It also makes no mention of Republican efforts to dismantle the Affordable Care Act without a replacement plan. Nearly 2 million people have lost their health insurance since President Obama left office.
Trump has signed executive orders dealing with healthcare in an attempt to bring down prices and expand Medicare choices. The administration also has proposed importing prescription drugs from Canada, but no steps have been taken to allow Medicare to negotiate drug prices with pharmaceutical firms.
The site also claims the 2017 tax cuts are fueling economic growth, but economists have said though they had an initial impact, their influence has dwindled considering the current economic expansion is in its 11th year. Further, the tax cuts have exacerbated the budget deficit, increasing the national debt.
Critics took to Twitter to weigh in on the site:
