'New World' Leveling Guide: Best Spots To Level Up Weapons

Leveling up weapons in “New World” will let players customize their playstyles to suit their taste and ultimately grow more powerful with each perk they unlock. However, this can take quite a bit of time considering how weapon XP is earned.

Players need to constantly use their preferred weapons in combat in order to gain experience points. Every kill on an enemy that’s near a player’s own level will net a fair chunk of weapon XP, which means that farming areas with high mob densities can be very fruitful when trying to level up.

Of course, not every monster-infested area can give the optimal amounts of XP that players want. Here are some other locations for adventurers to consider when power leveling their equipment.

Deadman’s Cove – Monarch’s Bluffs

Perhaps the most popular among weapon XP farming locations is Deadman’s Cove, a relatively large cavern by the western shore of Monarch’s Bluffs. This area is known as an Elite Zone. Only Elite monsters (enemies with gilded nameplates) spawn in Deadman’s Cove and similar areas and they give more XP than usual.

Deadman’s Cove is filled with undead pirates, ranging from the simple deckhands to pistoleers and even a few named enemies. Players who are at least Level 25 can safely farm this area with a group, but keep in mind that enemies here hit harder than usual. Be sure to bring restorative items and have a camp set up nearby.

Stone Skull Fort – Cutlass Keys

Like Deadman’s Cove, Stone Skull Fort is an Elite Zone that’s great for farming weapon XP. Although it’s less popular than the previous area, this zone spawns higher-level enemies that may make each clear more worthwhile.

There are plenty of other Elite Zones scattered across Aeternum. Be sure to try out those that are best suited for a character’s level.

Boarsholm – Restless Shore

This spot has recently gained popularity as one of the best farming spots in the game. Similar to the bear farm at the Lodestone Lair in Monarch’s Bluffs, Boarsholm spawns an unlimited number of boars for players to slaughter for XP and materials. This location can be found northeast of the Restless Shore Spirit Shrine, near the river delta.

Boarsholm can yield thousands of experience points per hour but much like Lodestone Lair, it’s likely to get nerfed in the future.
