It's almost New Year’s Eve and the best way to celebrate it, is by watching the Times Square ball drop live. Started in 1907, it now has become an American New Year’s Eve annual tradition to gather around the TV and watch thousands of New Yorkers, stand in sub-zero freezing temperatures as a huge crystal ball descends down a flagpole at midnight.

About one million people are expected to gather in New York City’s Times Square for the iconic ball drop with another 198 million Americans and one billion people around the world, watching the event on television. Bebe Rexha will perform just before the ball drop at midnight after shows by the lovelytheband, Christina Aguilera, Bastille, New Kids On The Block and Dan + Shay. Other featured performers include Sting, Snoop Dogg, Robin Thicke, Mau & Ricky and dance crew The Lab.

The ball drop can be seen on ABC channel. Live stream options are available including at timessquarenyc.org, timessquareball.net, on Times Square's Facebook and Twitter pages. You can also watch it on Hulu Live TV and YouTube.

Anderson Cooper will return for the 11th New Year’s Eve Live show on CNN, with Andy Cohen as his cohost. The festivities will start at 8 p.m. EST, with Cooper and Cohen counting down the Ball Drop in Times Square. You can watch the event on CNN. Fox channel will host its show starting 8 p.m. EST with a break between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. for news. The show will be hosted by Steve Harvey.

While everyone is prepping for the final countdown to 2019, weather experts said it will most likley be raining at midnight for the first time in 24 years. Rain is expected to start falling after 4 p.m. Monday, with conditions gradually worsening, according to NBC.
