The New York City Ballet kicked off its 2016-17 season with the NYCB’s fifth annual Fall Fashion Gala at Lincoln Center in New York on Sept. 20.
The star-studded event featured premiere ballets by Resident Choreographer and Soloist Justin Peck, NYCB Principal Dancer Lauren Lovette, Corps de Ballet member Peter Walker and internationally-acclaimed choreographer, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa. Lovette, Walker and Ochoa each debuted their first ever works for the ballet company for the opening night program.
Conceived by NYCB Board Vice Chairman Sarah Jessica Parker, and launched in 2012 with a gala celebration of the legendary designer Valentino, NYCB’s Fall Fashion Gala has raised more than $10 million for New York City Ballet over five years, and has featured costumes designed by the likes of Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, Prabal Gurung, Carolina Herrera, Mary Katrantzou, Humberto Leon, Hanako Maeda, Zuhair Murad, Olivier Theyskens, Iris van Herpen and others.
