New York Fashion Week: Betsey Johnson Teams Up with Baked by Melissa for Some Sweet Invites
Only Betsey Johnson would get a cupcake with hot pink icing and glitter sprinkles.
The outrageous designer decided to send a decidedly different sort of invitation to editors for her New York Fashion Week Fall 2012 show. She teamed up with famed Soho bakery, Baked by Melissa, to create a cupcake that is so Betsey Johnson.
Picture hot pink tie-dyed cakes topped with vanilla icing, white-chocolate pop rocks and multicolored glitter and you will have the Betsey Johnson cupcake.
The mini, quarter-sized cupcakes, which Baked by Melissa is famous for, were sent out to fashion editors along with invitations to Johnson's fall runway show.
The editors at Women's Wear Daily and Teen Vogue loved the sweet treats. Inside Teen Vogue: Bedazzled @xoBetseyJohnson @bakedbymelissa cupcakes! tweeted an editor from Teen Vogue with a photo of the sparkling sweet.
Although fashion editors were the first to try them, Baked by Melissa will sell the stylish confectionaries in packs of 25 for $25 and 50 for $50 during New York Fashion Week on the Baked by Melissa Web site.
