The New York Giants (5-9) have little to play for in the final two games of the regular season, but fans hoping for pure entertainment got disappointing news on Friday. Star wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. will miss his third straight game with a quad injury, according to a tweet from the Team.

The Giants have largely been a disappointment this year, as they will miss the playoffs for the sixth time in the past seven years. That said, Beckham was his usual excellent self when he played, tallying 77 catches for 1,052 yards and six touchdowns. He and rookie tailback Saquon Barkley provided flashes of hope for an offense that ranked just 20th in points scored.

Beckham signed a five-year, $95 million contract this year, making him the NFL’s highest paid pass catcher.
