New York Jets vs. Buffalo Bills: Watch Live Stream Online, Preview, Prediction Tim Tebow’s 2012 NFL Season Opener
The New York Jets and Buffalo Bills are set to square off on Sunday afternoon in their 2012 NFL season opener.
The contest is set to get underway at 1 p.m. ET at MetLife Stadium. The game will be broadcast on CBS. If you can't get to a TV, you can watch a live stream online if you purchase NFL Sunday Ticket Max.
The Jets look to improve on a disappointing 2011 campaign. They went 8-8 and missed the playoffs, after they were picked by many to make the Super Bowl.
Mark Sanchez starts for New York at quarterback. He struggled last year, after leading his team to back-to-back AFC Championship Games.
Tim Tebow will back up Sanchez, but he should see a lot of playing time. The Jets didn't showcase their wildcat package during the preseason, but offensive coordinator Tony Sparano could institute it a lot on Sunday. When Tebow was initially traded, Rex Ryan said the quarterback could play close to 20 snaps a game.
An improved Bills defense will try to stop the Jets on the road. They signed linebacker Mario Williams and defensive end Mark Anderson in free agency, who should help a Buffalo defense that tied for third-last with 29 sacks last season. Both players alone combined for 15 sacks in 2011.
They have to go up against a Jets offense that has limited weapons. Santonio Holmes is the team's top receiver, and finished last year with just 51 catches and 654 yards. They also failed to replace Plaxico Burress, who was New York's No.2 receiver.
Buffalo quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick leads the Bills offense against one of the best defense in the league. They struggled in the preseason, scoring less than 15 points per contest.
Both teams lost all of their exhibition games. The Jets are favored by three points.
Prediction: The Jets have very few offensive weapons, but one of the strongest defenses in the NFL. With the Bills offseason defensive additions, this should be a very low scoring contest. New York didn't score one touchdown in the preseason, and it'll be tough for them to score many points in their opener.
Predicted Score: Buffalo 20, NY Jets 10
