New York Rangers 2022 Stanley Cup Odds After Winning Game 7
The New York Rangers continued their improbable playoff run by defeating the Carolina Panthers in Game 7 of their second-round series Monday night. Now, another difficult challenge stands in New York’s way as it sits one series victory away from reaching the 2022 Stanley Cup Finals.
With four NHL teams still in contention, the Rangers have +500 Stanley Cup odds at FanDuel Sportsbook. New York will try to upset the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Eastern Conference Finals. Tampa Bay has won two straight championships and is trying to become the first team in 39 years to win three Stanley Cups in a row.
The Lightning are -190 favorites to beat the Rangers in the conference finals. New York has +160 odds to reach the 2022 Stanley Cup Finals.
If the Rangers find a way to win the championship, it’ll be among the most difficult Stanley Cup runs in recent history. New York is only the fourth NHL team ever to win multiple playoff series after facing a multi-game deficit in each series.
The Rangers won three straight elimination games after trailing the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-1 in their first-round series. New York rebounded from a 2-0 series deficit against Carolina.
Goaltender Igor Shesterkin had 36 saves in Game 7. Shesterkin has a .928 save percentage in the 2022 playoffs. Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy is just ahead of him with a .932 save percentage.
