Newlywed Couple Found Shot Dead; Police Search For Victim's 'Endangered' Brother
KEY POINTS
- Talon Rodgers and Alisa Wash, both 23, were found gunned down in their Virginia Beach apartment Monday night
- Police said they don't believe the deaths were the result of a domestic dispute
- Police are searching for Rodgers' younger brother, whom they think may have also been living in the couple's apartment
A young newlywed couple in Virginia was found shot dead in their apartment this week, and police are now looking for the husband's younger brother, whom they consider "endangered."
Talon Rodgers and Alisa Wash, both 23, were found gunned down in their Virginia Beach apartment Monday night, according to a news release from the Virginia Beach Police Department. Police said the shooting likely happened before that night, WVEC-TV reported.
The victims, who got married earlier this year, were pronounced dead on the scene from apparent gunshot wounds.
Police said they don't believe the deaths were the result of a domestic dispute. No motive has been announced, and no arrests have been made.
Two days into the investigation, police announced that they were trying to locate Talon's missing 20-year-old brother, Collin Rodgers. Investigators think Collin had been temporarily living in the couple's apartment.
Police consider Collin endangered because they are unsure of his whereabouts and why he went missing.
Collin was last seen by his parents at their Yorktown, Virginia, home on March 27, according to police.
Collin is described as 5-foot-9 and weighing 140 pounds with dark blond hair and brown eyes, according to police. He has a few noticeable tattoos: a design on his forearm, and a snake and blue Pokémon on his collarbone.
Police also said he could be driving a 2008 Hyundai Tiburon with the Virginia license plate 4871XH.
A spokesman with the police department said the investigators are trying to unravel what they're calling a "complex" case.
Talon and Wash tied the knot in March. A photo from the wife's Facebook page shows the couple smiling at the camera with Wash holding a bouquet of white flowers.
The couple's neighbor Zak Rabe recalled hearing "a couple of loud bangs" last week, The Virginian-Pilot reported.
"It was the middle of the night," Rabe said. "I had my headset on. I couldn't really tell if it was close or far away."
Another neighbor told WVEC that she called 911 Monday night when friends of the couple became worried about their whereabouts. She also said she heard loud sounds on March 30.
Talon was described as a standout student in a story published by the Tidewater Community College in 2020, while he was a student working toward an associate degree in diesel marine technology.
“Talon is meticulous in everything he does and is a standout student,” said Professor Abe Arispe, who had recommended Talon for a $2,000 scholarship from American Boat Yacht Council Foundation. “He’s not afraid to ask questions and wants to be sure he has each task down pat.”
