Newlywed Teen Abducted, Held Captive By Elderly Woman While Son Raped Her

A teen girl in India has been abducted and held captive by an elderly woman for around 15 days. The woman also allegedly let her son rape the victim several times.

The newlywed 19-year-old girl from a village near the central Indian city of Bhopal went missing from her home on Oct. 30. The family filed a missing complaint with the police and days later, she was rescued from a home in Sahore, around 30 miles from her village. The horrific case of abduction and rape came to light when the unidentified victim shared her ordeal with her family, Latin Times reported.

The girl told police that an elderly neighbor, along with her son-in-law, visited her home on Oct. 30 and invited her to join them for an outing. The girl was then taken to the home in Sahore and was held in a locked room for 15 days. During this period, the woman's son reportedly sexually assaulted her several times, The Times of India reported.

Police have started an investigation based on the teen's complaint and have registered a case of abduction and rape against the elderly woman, her son-in-law and her son. Investigators have not revealed any other details regarding the case. The identities of the suspects are not known.

In another incident, a teen girl in India was found abandoned last week after she was allegedly held captive and raped by a man for months. The unidentified 19-year-old from Nagpur, a city in the central Indian state of Maharashtra, was found unconscious on the roadside. She told police that a childless couple bought her from a human trafficker who had promised her a well-paid job. The victim was then kept in confinement by the couple for around 16 months while the husband raped her. She was thrown out by the couple after she delivered a baby. Police have registered cases against five people, including the couple.
