News Anchor Gives Birth After Water Breaks During Live Segment
Following a live Tuesday evening segment on NBC News 4 New York during which her water reportedly broke, anchor Natalie Pasquarella has given birth. The report was confirmed Wednesday by the station, which shared exclusive photos of Pasquarella and her newly delivered baby boy.
The 35-year-old anchor was discussing Twitter’s newly announced 280-character tweet length when she let out an “uneasy laugh,” the station reported, at which time she went into labor. Remarkably, Pasquarella waited until after the broadcast had ended before alerting anyone as to what was happening. An executive producer later helped transport her to the hospital, People reported Wednesday.
She and her husband, Jamin Pastore, welcomed Jamin James Pastore 13 hours later. Having been born early, the baby weighed 5 pounds and 6 ounces.
“Felt like my baby bump was in full effect this week at work...just about 1 month to go!” Pasquarella wrote Saturday on Facebook. “To all of you moms out there...the late second/third trimester had been my favorite, how about you?”
The post received hundreds of “likes” and an outpouring of responses from her followers.
According to NBC News, the couple is “overyjoyed” about their baby’s arrival.
