‘The Newsroom’ Season 3 Premiere Date Announced; New Promo Shows Will McAvoy In Action
“The Newsroom” will return to HBO for its third and final season on Nov. 9, and the cable network just released a first look. Much like the first teaser, this promo also fails to show fans any scenes from the coming season. Viewers just see quick flashes of the cast and crew at work on the drama.
The trailer shows actors Jeff Daniels, Allison Pill, Olivia Munn and more in the newsroom -- and no one looks particularly happy. They’ll still be dealing with the aftermath of Genoa when Season 3 starts, and creator Aaron Sorkin told an audience at the Tribeca Film Festival that the show would be tackling the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing in the final episodes. Could that be the reason for the serious faces? Decide for yourself and watch the promo below.
The promo released in August gave fans more spoilers, despite not even showing the actors. The first teaser showed pages of the script and fans could make out a few tantalizing lines of text. Most notable was a line from Will that read, “Well, I think it’s time for me to quit,” followed by the cue, “Fade to black.”
Viewers see him only for a couple seconds, but Will looks pretty settled into “The Newsroom” in the latest promo. That could change by the season finale, but the writers will have to wrap up the story quickly. Season 3 will be only six episodes, TV Line reports.
“The Newsroom” Season 3 will premiere on Sunday, Nov. 9, at XX p.m. EDT on HBO. Will you be tuning in? Sound off in the comments section below!
