KEY POINTS

  • The Airship map was rolled out in "Among Us" on March 31
  • A range of fixes and other improvements are set to roll out in the game after the major update
  • Larger lobbies and new colors are also coming to the game

"Among Us" developer Innersloth announced some exciting details about the next update coming to the hit online social deduction game, including a range of most-requested features.

A recent tweet from the official Twitter account of "Among Us" reveals the plans developers have for fans. Innersloth promises 15-player lobbies, improved art style and new player colors. A range of fixes and other improvements are also set to roll out in the game, according to the tweet.

The larger 15-player lobby is a sizeable upgrade that many "Among Us" players have long been requesting. At the moment, the social deduction game supports a maximum of ten players per lobby. A bigger lobby means more players, more chaos, more fun.

Both the larger lobbies and the new art style were mentioned when The Airship map was launched. While Innersloth at that time has not said anything about the features' release, fans now know what to look forward to in the next update. Innersloth said in the past that the new art style would have an easier animation process and much cleaner lines.

The new set of player colors is also another feature that many fans ask for. At the moment, "Among Us" has 12 various colors that players could choose from. The larger lobbies and the new colors coming to the game at the same time also makes a lot of sense.

With a bigger lobby that could accommodate 15 players but only 12 different color variations available, some players will have to use the same colors as others. Fortunately, with the arrival of the additional new colors, this issue could be easily resolved. The next update is not a massive addition to the game but it's nice to know that the devs listen to fans and work on even the tiniest details and small features that would please them and deliver a whole new level of gaming experience.

In one of its previous Devlogs, Innersloth promised "to be more transparent about what we're launching and the expected order by making a public roadmap. It won't have dates until we know we can hit them." Additionally, Innersloth mentioned that "We want to do more for you to show you how grateful we are, but without sacrificing on the quality and values we had before this blew up."
