The Next Duggar Courtship: Jana, John-David, Josiah’s Thoughts On Love

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s offspring are growing up fast. In the past 12 months, two of their daughters have tied the knot and another son is prepping to walk down the aisle this fall.

While “Counting On” fans are no doubt thrilled by the events happening within the Duggar brood, some can’t help but notice the single family members still living in the Duggar home. Who will the next Duggar courtship be? Let’s break down Jana, John-David and Josiah Duggar’s thoughts on love and dating.

After watching four of her younger sisters marry and start families of their own, Jana has admitted to feeling left out, but that doesn’t mean she’s willing to settle. The 27-year-old spoke out about her single status earlier this year, telling Crown of Beauty Magazine she has high standards when it comes to finding a partner.

“I know how it feels to wait for ‘Prince Charming’ to come along. I’m still waiting. Waiting is not always easy. Especially in those times when all the married siblings are getting together and you can’t go along because your not part of that group,” she told the magazine.

“But waiting doesn’t mean sitting and literally waiting,” she added. “I’ve found that when I’m having a hard or discouraging day, I try to look for ways to bless or serve someone else. And in turn it usually blesses and encourages me!”

And while Jana may not be lying in wait for her future husband, that doesn’t mean she doesn’t think about the day she will have a family of her own. In a March 2016 episode of “Counting On,” she admitted to dreaming about meeting “the one,” getting married and having kids within the next five years.

“There have been different guys come along and ask, but they haven’t been the right one,” she said during the installment. “It’s just one of those things. I’m not just out to get married to the first one who comes along.”

John-David Duggar

Like his twin sister, John-David has yet to find the one. Still, that doesn’t mean he’s waiting around for love. The second eldest son of Jim Bob and Michelle’s brood of 19 has been busy in recent years pursuing various career opportunities from flying planes to working for their local police department.

Still, that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been rumored to be linked to a woman or two. Several months after courtship rumors went flying in 2014, Jim Bob denied his son was in a relationship. “He’s not courting anybody right now,” Jim Bob said on the family’s TV series at the time. “But it probably won’t be too long.”

More recently, in May, his sister Jinger Vuolo teased his relationship status during an episode of “Counting On.” After being asked to divulge details about John’s love life by sister-in-law Anna Duggar, Jinger and John’s sister Jessa Seewald made it known Jinger knew more than she was letting on.

“Jinger actually knows about that one but she’s not saying,” Jessa said after Anna asked her sister-in-laws if John-David has someone special in his life.

“I guess people say that I know the most about John’s relationship status,” Jinger said to the cameras. “My answer to that, the info I know, is ask John. It’s true. My lips are sealed.”

Josiah Duggar

Josiah has been very open about the topic of love. The 20-year-old is the only known member of his family who has been in failed courtship.

Four months after revealing his relationship with then-girlfriend Marjorie Jackson to “Counting On” fans in April 2015, the pair split up. Despite the breakup, Josiah has made it clear he’s still open to a relationship with his ex.

“Marjorie and I had a good time together. We were just trying to follow God’s lead on everything. She didn’t feel that it was the right timing then, so we called it quits for a bit,” Josiah told People Magazine in March 2016. “We have time to grow … you never know. But when you think about a girl to marry, you ask what kind of guy she would want to marry and you try to be that kind of guy.”

Marjorie doesn’t seem be bothered by the breakup, however. She has been spending her time since the split traveling and just released her second book, “Devoted.”
