NFL 2016 Preseason Lines: Week 2 Point Spreads, Totals And Complete Betting Odds
Meaningful NFL games don’t begin for another three weeks, but there will still be plenty of money wagered on football in the meantime. Betting lines have been set for all 16 Week 2 preseason games, though many of the point spreads are the same.
Because of the unpredictable nature of exhibition games, half of the contests feature lines of exactly three points. No road teams are favored, and only one team is favored by more than 3.5 points.
The Denver Broncos are the exception in Week 2, giving the visiting San Francisco 49ers five points. Coming off their Super Bowl victory in February, Denver returned with another dominant defensive performance, shutting out the Chicago Bears last week. The 49ers lost to the Houston Texans 24-13 in Week 1 of the preseason, and Colin Kaepernick won’t be available in the team’s game on Saturday.
The Carolina Panthers could find themselves as road favorites by the time their game with the Tennessee Titans kicks off on Saturday. The contest in Tennessee is a pick’em.
All of the Week 2 over/unders are similar, ranging from 38 points to 43 points. Two Thursday night games—Philadelphia vs. Pittsburgh and Atlanta vs. Cleveland—are expected to be the lowest-scoring contests of the week. Green Bay vs. Oakland, also scheduled for Thursday, has the week’s highest total.
