Heading into Week 16 of the 2016 NFL season, eight playoff spots remain up for grabs. One postseason berth could be clinched in the week’s first game, and a few more should be gone by Christmas.

The New York Giants are still in contention for the NFC East title, but they’ll likely reach the playoffs as the conference’s No. 5 seed. They are expected to clinch a wild-card berth on “Thursday Night Football” entering Philadelphia as a small road favorite.

The Kansas City Chiefs can also clinch a playoff berth by defeating a divisional rival. They are four-point favorites over the visiting Denver Broncos on “Sunday Night Football.” Kansas City won in Denver on a Sunday night less than four weeks ago. It’s expected to be Week 16’s lowest-scoring affair with an over/under of just 37.5.

Kansas City is one of just two games being played on Sunday in Week 16. The Pittsburgh Steelers can clinch the AFC North title with a victory on Christmas Day, and they are five-point favorites against the Baltimore Ravens.

Of the 26 teams scheduled to play on Saturday, the New England Patriots are easily the biggest favorites. The AFC East champs are favored by three scores over the New York Jets, and they would clinch home-field advantage throughout the playoffs with a win, as well as a loss by the Oakland Raiders.

All the Dallas Cowboys need to do to clinch the No. 1 seed in the NFC is defeat the Detroit Lions on “Monday Night Football.” Dallas is a seven-point favorite, and they’ll be playing on national television for the fifth straight week.
