Nine games went over the total in the first week of the 2019 NFL season. Three contests feature an over/under north of 50 on the upcoming schedule. No total falls below 40.

Below are the five best over/under picks in Week 2, as well as updated betting odds at Las Vegas and online sportsbooks. Game totals are courtesy of OddsShark.

Minnesota Vikings vs. Green Bay Packers Under 44

After having a top-four ranked defense in three straight seasons, Minnesota picked up right where they left off by holding Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons to 12 points in Week 1. Mike Zimmer’s team has done a good job over the years of limiting Aaron Rodgers’ effectiveness, holding Green Bay to 17 points or fewer in four of the quarterback’s last six starts against Minnesota. The Packers’ offense didn’t look at all improved under rookie head coach Matt LaFleur with 10 points and 213 yards of total offense in Week 1.

Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Redskins Over 46.5

The Redskins always have a mediocre defense under Jay Gruden. There’s no reason to believe that will change in 2019, especially after Washington let the Philadelphia Eagles score 32 points in the final three quarters of the season opener. Dallas could be an offensive juggernaut under offensive coordinator Kellen Moore. The Cowboys have scored at least 27 points in six of their last nine-regular season games with Amari Cooper in the lineup. Washington’s offense at least showed some signs of life in Case Keenum’s Redskins’ debut.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Tennessee Titans Under 44

The running backs on both teams could see a heavy workload, limiting the total number of plays. Tennessee won’t score nearly as many points as they did in Week 1 when they took advantage of three Baker Mayfield interceptions. The Titans will feel the absence of starting left tackle Taylor Lewan against a Colts’ pass rush that had a lot of success in the opener.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Over 47

There could be a ton of points scored in this game. Expect the Steelers to have a major bounce-back performance after failing to reach the end zone in the opener. Seattle’s secondary is a shell of itself now that the Legion of Boom is gone. That’s why Andy Dalton led the NFL with 418 passing yards against the Seahawks a week ago. Pittsburgh’s defense isn’t exactly elite, so Russell Wilson will do what he does and keep Seattle competitive.

New Orleans Saints vs. Los Angeles Rams Over 52

This game will more closely resemble the regular-season shootout these two teams had rather than the low-scoring battle in the NFC Championship Game. The Rams have proven to be nearly impossible to stop at home under Sean McVay. Los Angeles scored at least 29 points in all but one home game, including the playoffs, last season. Eight of the nine games played in Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum totaled at least 52 points in the 2018 season.
