The New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers could finish the 2019 NFL season with some of the best team defensive statistics in recent years. The Los Angeles Rams don’t have the same high-powered offense that Sean McVay’s teams boasted in his first two years as head coach. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a top-five scoring team in spite of Jameis Winston’s inconsistent play.

Below are the five best over/under picks in Week 8 with the latest betting odds at Las Vegas and online sportsbooks. Game totals are courtesy of OddsShark.

Cleveland Browns vs. New England Patriots Under 46

This feels like a high number, considering New England just lost its No.2 receiver and has a historic defense. No offense has scored more than 10 points in a game against the Patriots’ defense. The Browns are averaging fewer than 10 points per game in three matchups with top-10 defenses. Baker Mayfield has a league-high 11 interceptions and plays behind a mediocre offensive line. New England’s defense is second in sacks with twice as many interceptions as any team.

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Los Angeles Rams Under 48

The game is being played in London, where NFL games have gone under the total in six of the last nine matchups, according to OddsShark. Cincinnati hasn’t scored more than 23 points in a game yet. The Bengals have been held to 17 points or fewer in five of their last six contests. Los Angeles only scored a ton of points in Week 7 because they visited a Falcons’ team that’s in a freefall and can’t stop anyone. Jared Goff has completed fewer than 60 percent of his passes in three straight games. The Rams are in the bottom half of the league in yards per play.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Buffalo Bills Over 43.5

With one of the NFL’s worst secondaries, teams are throwing the ball all over Philadelphia. The only time the Eagles held the opposition to fewer than 24 points was when Luke Falk started at quarterback. Josh Allen and Buffalo won’t approach 40 points as Minnesota and Dallas did in recent weeks, but the Bills are unlikely to be held to 16 points or fewer as they have been in half their games. Carson Wentz is bound to improve on a stretch of three straight games without a triple-digit passer rating.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Tennessee Titans Over 45.5

Tennessee has played in a bunch of low-scoring games because they haven’t faced any good offenses. Tampa Bay leads the NFC with 28.8 points per game. The Bucs rank 30th in scoring defense and give up the most passing yards per game. The Titans won’t be confused for an offensive juggernaut, but they did move the ball much better with Ryan Tannehill replacing Marcus Mariota last week. Jameis Winston should produce a few scores, whether he’s throwing touchdown passes or a pick-six.

Carolina Panthers vs. San Francisco 49ers Under 42.5

Coming off a shutout, San Francisco has surrendered 10 total points in the last three games. The 49ers gave up a season-high 20 points to the Steelers in Week 3 when they committed five turnovers. San Francisco actually ranks first ahead of New England when it comes to pass defense. Kyle Allen isn’t exactly lighting up opposing teams with 225 passing yards per game. The same goes for Jimmy Garoppolo, who’s mostly been a game-manager with 224 passing yards per game, seven total passing touchdowns and six interceptions. Carolina ranks first in sacks, four in opponents’ passer rating and fifth in opponents’ yards per play.
