Following free agency and the 2020 NFL Draft, there is a consensus favorite in each AFC division. The New England Patriots, Baltimore Ravens, Indianapolis Colts and Kansas City Chiefs are given the best odds to be the conference’s top-four seeds next season.

The exact odds vary at different sportsbooks, but FanDuel, DraftKings and William Hill all list the aforementioned teams as division favorites.

New England is favored to win its 12th straight AFC East title, even after Tom Brady’s departure to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Patriots are given between even and +120 odds to finish in first place. The Buffalo Bills (+130 to +160) are a close second in the division, having gone 10-6 in 2019 for their second wild-card berth in three years.

Jarrett Stidham is favored to under center for New England in Week 1.

The AFC South is thought to be the conference’s most unpredictable division. Indianapolis (+135 to +140) is barely given the edge ahead of the Tennessee Titans (+150 to +175). The Houston Texans (+300 to +350) have won the AFC South in four of the last five years.

The Colts missed the playoffs entirely, and they are the only favorite that hasn’t won at least two straight division titles. Tennessee reached the 2020 AFC Championship Game. Houston made it to the divisional playoffs.

Baltimore cruised to a division title with an NFL-best 14-2 record last season. The Ravens (-180 to -200) are heavy favorites to win a third consecutive AFC North Championship with unanimous MVP Lamar Jackson returning under center.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have no better than +275 division odds. The Cleveland Browns are around +500.

It should come as no surprise that the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs are the sport’s heaviest division favorites. Kansas City (-390 to -400) is 24-7 with Patrick Mahomes as the starter in the regular season. The Chiefs have won four straight AFC West titles.

The Denver Broncos, Oakland Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers all finished below .500 in 2019 and have no better than +700 division odds.

No NFC division has a consensus odds-on favorite.
