After several rumors that Le’Veon Bell could well be traded to some other team in the National Football League (NFL), the running back has remained with the New York Jets after the transfer deadline.

He has also urged patience from fans amid a disappointing start to the season. The Jets are set to take a poor 1-6 mark into this week's match against winless Miami.

“I need everyone to understand, it takes a process to build a winning program, to build a winning organization. I’m happy as hell to be a New York Jet. I’m happy to be here despite all the trade rumors and talks. I’m here and I’m happy to be here. But everybody just has to have a little bit of patience, just a little bit of patience. If it happened overnight, it would be a bunch of teams snapping their fingers and making it happen. But I understand it takes a process," Bell said in a video he tweeted Tuesday.

The $52.5 million running back, who signed as a free agent with the Jets during the off-season, was made to sit on the bench nearly throughout the previous season. However, he has not lived up to the expectations as a Jets player with just 349 rushing yards through seven games, including 23 on just nine carries in Sunday’s loss to Jacksonville.

"I just need all the Jets fans, all the Jets supporters, from my teammates and myself, I need you all to understand … just stick with us, man. Everything’s gonna happen. This is our first year being all together. We’ve got our first year with our head coach [Adam Gase], first year with our general manager."

"I think Joe Douglas is doing a tremendous job trying to turn this thing around. Just understand we’re going to get this ship sailing in the right direction, but I just need everybody to have some patience, just stick with us. I promise we’re going to get it turned around," the running back added in the video.
