  • Elliott shares that he is recovering well from the virus
  • Expectations are higher for the Cowboys in the upcoming season with their revamped roster

The moves the Dallas Cowboys have done in the offseason have been propelled them into bouncing back higher in the coming year. Despite the overflowing great start for their team, one of their pro bowlers Ezekiel Elliott has unfortunately tested positive of the COVID-19.

The Dallas Cowboys are hailed to have one of the best offseasons in the NFL. While the organization is geared towards making an impact in the coming year, news of a key player falling ill holds a difficult part on the franchise.

Despite this challenge, Elliott himself has maintained a good mental disposition in this difficult circumstance. In a Twitch chat with Scooter Magruder, the star running back shared what he’s enduring for the past few days.

"I would say I had one or two days where I felt symptoms, and even then it wasn't too bad. I had a cough and a little bit of shortness of breath. But now I would say I feel good, I feel normal," Elliott said by way of the Dallas Cowboys’ official website.

There’s a great sign of optimism coming from Elliott as he’s waiting to get re-tested in the coming week.

“I just decided it won't hurt just to wait another week and just give myself more time to rest up. But I feel good," Elliott shared.

While the three-time Pro Bowler hasn’t been cleared for action yet, he’s expected to be one of the more reliable players for the newly improved Cowboys this year. One of the key highlights of the new squad includes high-quality signings such as Andy Dalton and CeeDee Lamb. The addition of Lamb comes as a surprise for the league as the top rookie prospect slipped to the 17th pick in the recently concluded draft.

The season is looking to be an exciting one for the Cowboys as their revamped offense increases their chances this year. It’ll be interesting to see how Elliott performs after enduring such a unique ordeal.
