NFL Fantasy Football Running Backs: Who to Start, Who To Sit In Week Ten
Week ten of the NFL regular season is almost upon us so it is time to think about which running backs will help you beat your buddies on the fantasy gridiron.
Remember to sit your fantasy players who have a bye week. These teams will not play during week ten; Denver Broncos, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins.

The Indianapolis Colts will welcome the struggling Miami Dolphins to town this weekend. The Dolphins defense has allowed almost five yards per carry, nine total scores and given up the fifth-most fantasy points on the ground. So, despite the fact that Marlon Mack has gotten nine or more points just once in his last three games, he is a good value for money to start against Miami.
The Detroit Lions are simply useless against the running game. They’ve allowed the most fantasy points to running backs in the league this season and given up 13 touchdowns so far. So, when they visit the Chicago Bears this weekend, expect a huge game from David Montgomery.
Devin Singletary is emerging as a crucial part of the Buffalo Bill’s offense and has outperformed Frank Gore recently. Their week ten opponents, the Cleveland Browns, allowed Philip Lindsay to score 15.2 points on only nine carries last week, making Singletary a good option at running back for week ten.
The San Francisco 49ers saw Travis Coleman underperform in week nine but he should bounce back in week ten as his team faces the Seattle Seahawks. They just allowed Ronald Jones to score 16.2 fantasy points last week and have also allowed a top-15 running back in five of their last six. Coleman will get plenty of touches in week ten.
Jaylen Samuels of the Pittsburgh Steelers rounds out the top running backs for NFL fantasy week ten. He played 65.6% of snaps in week nine so based on game time alone he has the chance to do some damage against the Los Angeles Rams.
Best RBs for NFL fantasy week ten; Marlon Mack, David Montgomery, Devin Singletary, Travis Coleman and Jaylen Samuels.
Running Backs to Sit in NFL Fantasy Week Ten
Fantasy owners will be tempted to start the Cincinnati Bengal’s Joe Mixon against the Baltimore Ravens after a good season to this point. However, the Ravens defense is miserly against the ground game, allowing 71.4 rushing yards per game in 2019 so will probably hold Mixon to a quiet game.
The Atlanta Falcons’ Devonta Freeman is another quality player who is set for a quiet week ten. However, the New Orleans Saints haven’t allowed a top ten fantasy running back this season and have been especially good at home. While Freeman could contribute with some catches, his run game should be very underwhelming.
LeSean McCoy has a decent matchup in week ten as the Kansas City Chiefs face the Tennessee Titans. However, he hasn’t been himself these past two weeks and has even fallen down the pecking order for the Chiefs. He is now playing just 24% of snaps and that trend doesn’t look like changing.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are really good against the run. They’ve allowed just 3.3 yards per rush and have yielded the second-fewest fantasy points to running backs this season. So, when Kenyan Drake and the Arizona Cardinals square off with the Bucs, expect a quiet game for the back.
The Miami Dolphins aren’t doing well this season and they are set to face the Indianapolis Colts, who have allowed just 77 rushing yards against this season and a total of just five TDs. Fantasy owners in week ten should, therefore, avoid Kalen Ballage despite the suspension of Mark Walton.
Worst RBs for NFL fantasy week ten; Joe Mixon, Devonta Freeman, LeSean McCoy, Kenyan Drake and Kalen Ballage.
