There was a ton of player movement on the first official day of NFL free agency for the 2022 offseason. In addition to trades involving Russell Wilson and Carson Wentz, several high-profile players changed teams and signed lucrative contracts.

Here’s a look at the five biggest free-agent contracts so far:

Von Miller: Six years, $120 million (Buffalo Bills)

After winning a Super Bowl in his half-season with the Los Angeles Rams, Miller is joining next season’s championship favorite. The contract with the Bills includes $51.5 million guaranteed and $45 million fully guaranteed at signing, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports. While no longer an All-Pro, Miller can still put pressure on quarterbacks with regularity. Miller had 9.5 sacks in 15 games last season.

J.C. Jackson: Five years, $82.5 million (Los Angeles Chargers)

The New England Patriots lost one of their best defensive players when they let J.C. Jackson walk in free agency. The cornerback has 17 interceptions over the last two seasons. Jackson made his first Pro Bowl in 2021, leading the league with 23 passes defended. His departure is a significant loss for a New England defense that limited opponents to a 73.3 passer rating.

Marcus Williams: Five years, $70 million (Baltimore Ravens)

The safety is headed to Baltimore after spending the first five years of his career with the New Orleans Saints. The Saints were unable to sign Williams, saddled with the NFL’s worst salary-cap situation. Williams is a much-needed addition to a Baltimore secondary that was decimated by injuries in 2021.

Randy Gregory: Five years, $70 million (Denver Broncos)

It appeared that Gregory was ready to sign a new deal with the Dallas Cowboys. That changed when Dallas put a clause in the defensive end’s contract that could allow the team to void the deal if Gregory was ever punished for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. Gregory has had trouble staying on the field, but he has the talent of a top pass rusher.

Christin Kirk: Four years, $72 million (Jacksonville Jaguars)

Kirk was never an above-average receiver in four seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, but there are signs that he could have a career year as a featured receiver in Jacksonville. The 25-year-old played in every game for the first time in 2021, posting personal bests of 77 receptions for 982 yards and five touchdowns. Jacksonville has been the NFL’s worst team in two straight years.
