Colin Kaepernick is determined to make it back to the NFL and the spate of injuries to quarterbacks could be his ticket back. His agent is reportedly contacting several teams like the Carolina Panthers, New Orleans Saints, New York Jets, and Pittsburgh Steelers, hoping one of them will show interest.

Sources told Chris Williamson of SNY that Kaepernick's agent has reached out to teams who are in need of quarterback help. Though he has not played since 2016, the former San Francisco 49ers player has shown through videos that he is perhaps in the best shape of his career.

“Colin is literally in the best shape of his life. He’s been working out 5 days a week at 5 am for 3 years. He wants to play and his agent has been contacting teams in need of a QB,” he said.

NFL teams have passed on possibly giving the 31-year-old a shot at playing in the league. Some feel that his kneeling protests are a reason why some have blackballed him and opted to look at other available talents. The last time he played, Kaepernick completed 59.2 percent of his passes in 12 games with the 49ers. He threw for 16 touchdowns and 4 interceptions.

As previously reported, Kaepernick is keeping himself in shape and hoping that some NFL teams take notice. That included working out with Odell Beckham Jr. in private training footage obtained by TMZ Sports.

Several players feel that Kaepernick can still be an asset to any team even as a backup quarterback. With players like Drew Brees, Ben Roethlisberger and Nick Foles saddled with injuries, the window of opportunity for the two-time WAC Offensive Player of the Year just got bigger.

Kaepernick could get a big boost in making an NFL comeback with help coming from influential people. Jay-Z could put in a good word for his old pal but Tony Rock says otherwise in a report from TMZ Sports.

"Jay-Z making his money. He doesn't care about Kaepernick playing no more. He did a deal that's about himself, it ain't about Kaepernick."

Hence, any hope of seeing Kaepernick back in an NFL uniform may hinge on how well his agents are able to reach out to teams. As of this writing, none have come forward even if he seems to be in the best shape of his football career.
