NFL News: US President Praises Tom Brady For Defying Age To Win Another Super Bowl
KEY POINTS
- US President Joe Biden is impressed as to how Tom Brady proved that age is just a number
- Brady makes his first White House visit since 2005
- Brady has seemingly taken a swipe at ex-US President Donal Trump during the courtesy call
United States President Joe Biden welcomed the 2021 Super Bowl champions to the White House on Tuesday, and there were a lot of lighthearted moments--particularly with NFL legend Tom Brady.
It was Brady’s first visit to the White House since 2005. When ex-US President Donald Trump was in office, the seven-time Super Bowl winner opted to pass on the courtesy call. He was still with the New England Patriots at the time.
At one point, Biden even touched on age. Being one of the oldest political figures to be elected as a US President, the 78-year-old mentioned how Brady and Bruce Arians were the oldest quarterback-and-head coach duo for a Super Bowl-winning team.
“As far as I’m concerned, there’s nothing wrong with being the oldest guy to make it to the mountaintop," Biden stated.
It was a different take considering Brady made comments that were seemingly directed at Trump.
“Not a lot of people think that we could have won,” Brady joked. “And in fact, about 40 percent of people still don’t think we won.”
