NFL Playoff Picks Against The Spread 2020: Predictions ATS, Odds For Conference Championship Games
Championship Sunday in the 2020 NFL playoffs features a pair of big point spreads. The Kansas City Chiefs are favored by a touchdown over the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Championship Game. The Green Bay Packers are getting 7.5 points against the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game.
Below are picks against the spread for both conference championship games, as well as updated betting odds at Las Vegas and online sportsbooks. Betting lines are courtesy of OddsShark.
Tennessee Titans (+7) at Kansas City Chiefs, 53
The Titans have been the most impressive team this postseason, beating both the defending champion New England Patriots and the No.1 seed Baltimore Ravens on the road. Derrick Henry has been virtually unstoppable, averaging 188.5 yards on 5.9 yards per carry. He had 188 yards on 23 carries when Tennessee beat Kansas City in Week 10. The Chiefs finished the regular season 26th in rushing yards allowed and 29th in opponents’ yards per rush. Stud defensive tackle Chris Jones is uncertain to play because of an injury, making it even more likely that Henry will continue to put up big numbers.
Patrick Mahomes gives Kansas City a significant edge at the game’s most important position. If the contest is close in the fourth quarter, the Chiefs should avoid the upset. Henry will help milk the clock and keep Mahomes off the field. Tennessee is playing too well on both sides of the ball to lay a touchdown with Kansas City.
Prediction ATS: Tennessee, Under
Green Bay Packers (+7.5) at San Francisco 49ers, 45
It was never close when these two teams met on a Sunday night two months ago as the 49ers routed the Packers 37-8 at Levi’s Stadium. Don’t be surprised if the rematch is another one-sided contest. San Francisco’s No.2 ranked defense is healthy, and it was apparent in the divisional round when the 49ers beat the Vikings 27-10. Kirk Cousins threw for 172 yards on only 5.9 yards per attempt. Aaron Rodgers was limited to 104 yards against San Francisco. Those numbers are not outliers since the 49ers give up 169.2 passing yards per game.
Green Bay has struggled against even average quarterbacks, allowing the likes of Derek Carr, Philip Rivers and Matt Moore to put up impressive numbers. Russell Wilson had 277 yards and a 106.5 passer rating at Lambeau Field last week. Jimmy Garoppolo posted a 145.3 passer rating against the Packers in the first meeting, and he’ll find success Sunday. Couple that with the 49ers’ No.2 running attack facing a Green Bay defense that gives up 4.7 yards per carry and you’ve got the recipe for a double-digit San Francisco victory.
Prediction ATS: San Francisco, Under
