NFL: Potential Perfect Season Far From Patriots' Agenda Says Brady
The New England Patriots have been impressive with two blowout wins in the 2019-20 NFL season. Folks are now toying with the idea of possibly seeing the Pats run roughshod over other opponents, raising the possibility of a perfect season.
As far as Tom Brady is concerned, thinking of a clean sweep is premature and irrelevant. He prefers to deal with what immediately lies ahead instead of pondering on how they can keep their streak going moving forward. He believes that if a perfect season is meant to be, it will just happen.
"You'll have plenty of time to think about those when that's a real reality. I mean, that's so far from what our reality is. You're not going to live your life going through hypothetical situations," said Brady when he appeared on The Greg Hill show.
Brady shares the same sentiments of Pats head coach Bill Belichick. The reality of it all is that they are only two games or one-eighth of the season and anything can happen. Rather than entertain the idea of a 16-0 record, it would be best to prepare for their next opponent than preserving an immaculate slate.
"Through two games we're playing well. But that's one-eighth of the season. So how are we going to do in the next eighth of the season? That's where our head's at," said Brady.
At 42-years-old, Brady continues remains effective on the field. He has repeatedly mentioned that he hopes to play until he is 45-years-old. Barring any injuries, it appears he is well on his way. And it appears he is following a strict health regimen to make sure.
In a report from Men's Health, the six-time Super Bowler says that he follows a strict health and wellness regime which account for his longevity and success. That includes waking up at 6:00 a.m., drinking four to five protein shakes daily and consuming plant-based food and a recovery shake after big games.
As for the Patriots, Belichick knows that there is work to be done. One involves the field-goal operation of kicker Stephen Gostkowski where he missed three attempts. However, the 67-year-old coach expressed little concern and believes that this is something the coaching staff and Gostkowski can work on, Boston.com reported.
“He’s certainly kicked well for us last weekend in Pittsburgh. I have confidence in all the people that are involved here,” he said.
The Patriots may be humming but there are obviously some things they need to address. Once they do, then targeting a perfect season can become clearer.
