The play of rookie quarterbacks was the story of the first week of the NFL preseason, and that should continue to be the case in Week 2. Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, Trey Lance, Justin Fields and Mac Jones are expected to see extended playing time with the regular season rapidly approaching.

Fields had the most impressive debut of the first-round quarterbacks, completing 14 of his 20 passes for 142 yards and a touchdown. The Chicago Bears’ rookie also added 33 rushing yards and a score on the ground in a 20-13 win over the Miami Dolphins. Fields and the Bears take center stage Saturday afternoon against the Buffalo Bills in a nationally televised affair.

Jones and the New England Patriots kick off Week 2 of the preseason with a visit to Philadelphia Thursday night. Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars conclude the schedule with a matchup against the New Orleans Saints on “Monday Night Football.”

All five first-round rookie quarterbacks are set to play on national TV in Week 2 of the preseason. The Week 2 games that aren’t on national TV can be seen with a subscription to NFL Game Pass. Viewers can watch live preseason games and replays with NFL Game Pass.

Only 3 of the 16 Week 1 preseason games went over the betting total. No game in Week 2 has an over/under north of 40.5.

The Denver Broncos led all teams with 33 points in their preseason debut as Drew Lock threw for 151 yards and two touchdowns. The Atlanta Falcons and Minnesota Vikings both failed to score a touchdown.
