NFL Preview: Cleveland Browns vs Indianapolis Colts, Where to Watch Online, Betting Odds
The Cleveland Browns hope to start a winning streak since Week 3 last season as they meet the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium Sunday afternoon.
Cleveland earned their first win of the season last week by beating the Cincinnati Bengals 34-24, behind a total defensive effort that picked off Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton three times.
Rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden went 17-for-29 with 231 yards and two touchdowns with a pick, and receiver Josh Gordon had three receptions for 99 yards, including a 71-yard score in the second quarter.
Weeden, who leads the NFL with 10 interceptions this season, led Cleveland on two scoring drives in the fourth quarter, and cornerback Sheldon Brown picked off Dalton and ran back 19 yards for a score and clinched the win.
Cleveland also held the Bengals to 76 total rushing yards, and running back Montario Hardesty made his season debut for the Browns, leading them with 56 yards and a score.
The 2-3 Colts had a much poorer showing against the New York Jets last week, losing 35-9 with four straight turnovers on their last possessions of the game.
Running back Shonn Greene had a season-high 161 rushing yards and three touchdowns, with the Jets defense picking off Indianapolis quarterback Andrew Luck three times. Luck produced his lowest passer rating of the season, and the Colts were just 3-for-11 on third down conversions.
Rookie running back Vick Ballard filled in for the injured Donald Brown, but struggled in his first start and gained 25 yards on eight carries, as Indianapolis failed to score a touchdown for the first time this season.
Luck did find his top receiver Reggie Wayne for five receptions and 87 yards, but both lost fumbles in the final five minutes of the fourth quarter.
The game begins at 1 p.m. EDT and will be shown by CBS, or watch a live stream online by purchasing NFL Sunday Ticket Max.
Betting Odds: Indianapolis is favored by 3 points
Over/Under: 45 points
Prediction: Luck has shown the ability to be a top quarterback, but not the consistency just yet; while Weeden is still searching for his signature game of the season. This will be a battle of the rookie quarterbacks, with Luck prevailing in the fourth quarter.
Predicted Score: Indianapolis 24, Cleveland 20
