NFL QB Rankings 2022: Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Patrick Mahomes Top Madden Ratings
Even as he enters his age-45 season, Tom Brady is still the best quarterback in the NFL. At least, that’s what the makers of the most popular football video game believe.
EA Sports has released its quarterback ratings for Madden NFL 23, and Brady tops the list. The five-time Super Bowl MVP has a 97 player rating, putting him ahead of back-to-back NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers’ 96 player rating is good for second among quarterbacks. Patrick Mahomes is the third-highest rated quarterback in ‘Madden 23 with a 95 rating.
Brady was the 2021 NFL passing leader with 5.316 yards. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ quarterback led the league with 43 touchdown passes.
In consecutive MVP campaigns, Rodgers has posted the NFL’s highest passer rating. The Green Bay Packers’ star might have the highest rating had he made a trip to the Super Bowl during that time. Rodgers and the Packers suffered another early playoff exit last year.
It appeared that Mahomes was set to take the torch from Brady as the clear No. 1 quarterback in the NFL until the Bucs defeated Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl two seasons ago. Mahomes’ career 105.8 passer rating is the highest of all time, and he’s led the Chiefs to four straight AFC Championship Game appearances.
A pair of other quarterbacks have player ratings in the 90s. Josh Allen is fourth at 92, while Joe Burrow is fifth at 90.
Allen is the betting favorite to win the 2022 NFL MVP award after throwing nine touchdown passes and no interceptions in last season’s playoffs. Burrow went to the Super Bowl in just his second NFL season.
Dak Prescott is sixth with a player rating of 89. Justin Herbert’s 88 rating puts him seventh among quarterbacks. Herbert was second to Brady in passing yards during the 2021 season.
Lamar Jackson and Russell Wilson are tied for eighth with an 87 rating. Matthew Stafford is 10th with an 85 rating, coming off his Super Bowl championship with the Los Angeles Rams.
