  • Former Minnesota Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen remains as one of the top free agents of the NFL
  • Speculated teams fit for Everson Griffen are the Dallas Cowboys and the Buffalo Bills
  • The Cowboys and the Bills had a productive run in the recent NFL draft

The NFL draft just concluded but the offseason rumors are just heating up. One latest speculation includes former Minnesota Viking Everson Griffen and the speculated teams he might end up in.

Two squads that are considered to be suitable for the defensive end star are the Dallas Cowboys and the Buffalo Bills. Both teams are looking to further improve their standings and bounce back from the 2019 campaign.

Last season saw the Cowboys fall into an 8-8 record, as they failed to make the postseason. The Bills, on the other hand, had a better outing as they tallied 10 wins and qualified for a wild card berth. Despite this, the Bills fell short against the Houston Texans in overtime, 19-22.

Moving up from the middle of the league may take some time but with proper offseason moves then the Cowboys and the Bills just might have enough to take their performance further.

The Cowboys have been praised recently with their performance in the recent draft. One of the biggest selections of this year’s class involved star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb slipping to the 17th pick in the first round. This gives the Cowboys an additional offensive weapon in the years to come.

For the Buffalo Bills, the draft was also productive as they were able to gather quality young players. One of these is AJ Espenesa from Iowa who has the potential to grow as a star defensive end. Having the presence of a former Second-team All-Pro like Griffen can hone the skills of the rookies to have impactful careers moving forward.

With the talent of Griffen’s caliber, his presence and toughness on the field can be an additional boost for both teams. The 32-year-old veteran is considered to be a physical specimen who serves as an asset on the defensive end. The four-time Pro-Bowler has tallied a total of 74.5 sacks and 355 combined solo and assisted tackles throughout his career.

While the season remains to be on hold due to the global pandemic, teams such as the Cowboys and the Bills remain busy this offseason. It will be an interesting season to follow with all the recent developments.
