Jalen Ramsey is still a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars more than a week after he requested to be traded. That doesn’t mean the star cornerback has changed his mind about wanting to play elsewhere.

On the latest edition of the Uninterrupted’s “17 Weeks” podcast, Ramsey reiterated that he no longer wants to be with the Jaguars.

“I'm not sure if I've played my final game for the Jags yet or not but my trade request still stands,” Ramsey said. “For me, respect is a huge thing. I kinda touched on it a little bit last week in last week's podcast but once respect is lost for both parties I think it is time to part ways.”

It’s possible that Ramsey has played his last game with Jacksonville, even though he’s likely to still be a member of the team when the Jaguars visit the Denver Broncos Sunday afternoon. The two-time Pro Bowl defensive back is away from the team for the birth of his daughter.

Ramsey sat out practice earlier this week because of an illness. He played on “Thursday Night Football” in Week 3 when his trade request was public, recording eight tackles in Jacksonville’s 20-7 win over the Tennessee Titans.

The Jaguars reportedly have little interest in trading Ramsey, at least not at the price they’ve been offered. Jacksonville appears to be standing firm, asking for two first-round picks in exchange for arguably their best overall player.

It doesn’t sound like any team is willing to match the Jaguars’ asking price just yet, but there is plenty of interest in the 24-year-old.

ESPN’s Josina Anderson reported last week that Ramsey wasn’t expecting to play for the Jaguars again as at least six teams had made “substantive inquires” into acquiring him. Among those six was the Philadelphia Eagles, a team that might be the most logical landing spot for Ramsey.

Philadelphia is considered to be a legitimate Super Bowl contender just two years removed from beating Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII. After a 2-2 start, it’s clear that the team’s secondary is their biggest obstacle in trying to win another championship.

The Eagles defeated the Green Bay Packers 34-27 Thursday night. Philadelphia won the turnover battle 2-0, Carson Wentz posted a 113.2 passer rating and the Eagles’ running backs totaled 163 yards on over 6.0 yards per carry.

Green Bay nearly picked up the win at home because Philadelphia couldn’t stop Aaron Rodgers and the Packers’ passing attack. The quarterback posted a season-high 422 passing yards after failing to reach the 250-yard mark in any of his first three games.

Case Keenum put up big numbers against the Eagles in Week 1, managing to throw for 380 yards and a 117.6 passer rating. Matt Ryan threw for 320 yards and three touchdowns the following week in a win over the Eagles.

Philadelphia’s secondary is littered with injuries. Jalen Mills started the season on the PUP list and Ronald Darby missed the Week 4 contest. Avonte Maddox and Sidney Jones both got hurt Thursday.

Adding Ramsey would improve Philadelphia’s greatest weakness and put them in a much better position to make a deep playoff run.
