The Baltimore Ravens are reportedly set to move on from Joe Flacco and start the Lamar Jackson era. The 33-year-old quarterback has been hounded by a hip injury that he incurred last November, but the Ravens seem to have found new life with Jackson in the quarterback position.

As mentioned in a previous post, Flacco has been practicing again with the Ravens, but there is no certainty on whether he could inherit the starting quarterback position once more. And it seems that it will stay that way, with reports saying that Baltimore will be trading the former Super Bowl MVP winner to a team of his choice.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the Ravens plan treat Flacco's case with class and send him to the team of his choice. Flacco's injury has opened the door for the Ravens to give Jackson the chance to prove himself, something he has done splendidly. It comes to no surprise that coach John Harbaugh has opted to stick with the rookie quarterback, raising belief that Flacco's time in Baltimore is nearing its end.

“Look at Flacco’s future, he’s 33 years old, he’s set to make $18.5 million dollars next year. The Ravens are expected to move on from him this offseason,” Rapoport said.

The Ravens could elect to keep him as a backup quarterback, meaning he would play behind Jackson. But with his health and $16 million likely to end up in dead money, Baltimore could be better off shipping Flacco to another team and potentially get players or assets that can help the Ravens moving forward, NESN.com noted.

There is also the option of potentially releasing Flacco in the offseason, possibly the last resort in case the Ravens fail to find a trading partner. But as someone who has been a starter for the Charm City since 2008 and led the Ravens to Super Bowl XLVII in 2013, the former University of Delaware standout is expected to get his share of suitors.

Finally, there is also the money matter tied up to the former first-round pick of 2008. According to ESPN, the Ravens have absorbed the guaranteed purse of Flacco, hinting that ties may be cut soon. Should this happen, Baltimore would save $10 million in 2019.

As for Flacco, there are several teams that could sign him up. The list includes the Jacksonville Jaguars or even the Washington Redskins, both of which can get a big boost with the 33-year-old's expertise, according to Yahoo Sports.
