Leonard Fournette’s time with the Jacksonville Jaguars might be running out. The running back finds himself in trade rumors, and the evidence continues to suggest that he’ll be on a new team in the 2020 NFL season.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Saturday that Jacksonville was having trade discussions with other teams regarding Fournette. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, those talks began more than a month ago.

Fournette has a $4.16 million base salary in 2020 with an $8.6 million dead cap. Only four other running backs have a higher cap hit next season.

The Jaguars selected Fournette with the No.4 overall pick in the 2017 draft. He’s totaled 2,631 rushing yards in 36 games, never making a Pro Bowl. Fournette is coming off the best season of his young career, setting personal highs with 1,152 yards and 4.3 yards per carry.

Jacksonville has the No.9 pick and the No.20 pick in the 2020 draft. The first round is set for Thursday night.

One notable running back has already been traded this offseason. The Arizona Cardinals sent David Johnson, the No.40 pick in this year’s draft and a 2021 fourth-round pick to the Houston Texans in exchange for DeAndre Hopkins and the 131st pick.

The Los Angeles Rams tried to trade Todd Gurley earlier this offseason, eventually releasing him before $10.5 million of his contract became fully guaranteed for next season.

The Jaguars traded defensive end Calais Campbell for a fifth-round pick in March. Jacksonville dealt quarterback Nick Foles for a fourth-rounder.

The Jaguars used the franchise tag on edge rusher Yannick Ngakoue, but he could be available for at least one first-round pick.
