It seems that the Indianapolis Colts have entered the Le'Veon Bell sweepstakes, crowding the belief that the New York Jets have the inside track. Le'Veon Bell sat out the current NFL season, but it seems the running back is not yet ready to call it a career. Opting to rest his battered body and get a lucrative long-term deal next season, it remains to be seen where he will end up.

The New York Jets have been mentioned as a favorite to land the services of the running back who remains a Pittsburgh Steeler. In fact, several ex-Steelers who are now with the Jets have made their pitch to the 26-year-old professional football player.

Among the ones who spoke include Kelvin Beachum, who believes Bell will eventually be vindicated from the criticism he got for sitting out the current NFL season, Trib Live reported.

"I think he has a desire to prove people wrong that say that he took this year off and then he's going to shut it down (after getting paid). I think he has even more of a chip on his shoulder to actually go and do something," Beachum said.

And then there is also Steve McLendon who calls Bell a great teammate.

"He's the ultimate great teammate, who will sacrifice anything for his teammates. He loves his teammates. We all understand this is a business. I respect everything that he's doing. Don't get that contract stuff confused. He understands that his body is his business," he said.

From the looks of it, the Jets seem to have the inside track. However, SNY's Ralph Vacchiano begs to differ. In fact, he believes that it is the Indianapolis Colts are the preferred destination of Bell, according to some source.

“He has his eyes on the Colts, no doubt about that,” the source said. “He sees Luck and that offense and all that cap room and they’re much closer than the Jets. He wants to go someplace he can win right away.”

The Colts boast of a dynamic offense, but they do have the salary-cap room to welcome Bell. Add to the fact that Indianapolis has the likes of Andrew Luck, Marlon Mack and Nyheim Hines, Bell could be the perfect complement and boost the team to the top of the AFC.

Indianapolis is currently fighting for the final wild-card spot in the AFC with an 8-6 record. The Colts have bounced back strong in 2018 under the watch of new head coach Frank Reich, NESN said. With the success they have been getting, one can only imagine how the team will fare next NFL season should they land the prized running back from Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
