KEY POINTS

  • Logan Ryan took to social media to announce his exit and express his gratitude for the Tennessee Titans
  • The Tennessee Titans had a deep postseason run as underdogs in the 2019 NFL playoffs
  • Squads such as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are suitable teams to pick up the veteran cornerback

It has been confirmed that Logan Ryan of the Tennessee Titans would no longer rejoin the team next season. This opens an opportunity for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to take a chance at the cornerback.

On Ryan’s official Instagram account, he left a sincere message on he had a great stint with the Titans.

“My chapter in Tennessee has come to a close,” Ryan said.

He goes on by thanking everyone for the support that he’s had with the Titans, mentioning how the past season was great for him as a professional. In one of the bigger stories of the year, the Titans were 9-7 in the regular season but they were only one game short of the Super Bowl.

“To my Titans Teammates: I love all y’all. Being a leader and earning y’all respect is what meant most to me. Win or lose we stuck together and backed down from no one,” Ryan wrote.

The two-time Super Bowl winner has been with the team since 2017 and was a big reason for their success as underdogs late in the playoffs.

“I’m looking forward to continue to play at an elite level for a organization that’s a great fit for my family and me. Everybody Stay Safe & Positive during these crazy times,” he added.

The energy and hustle that Ryan brings would benefit several other teams in the league. One of these would be the Buccaneers.

In one of the most iconic moments in last year’s season, Ryan intercepted his former teammate Tom Brady’s pass that led to a touchdown. It would be known as Brady’s final pass as a New England Patriot.

Given that Brady now leads the Buccaneers, a reunion with Ryan can bring back the championship days of the Patriots. Add this to the fact that Tampa Bay recently acquired Rob Gronkowski for even more Super Bowl experience to the team. The Buccaneers are gearing up to be a legitimate contender and having Ryan in the defensive backfield is a major boost.

While the only thing certain is Ryan not coming back to Tennessee, it would be interesting to see how other teams would negotiate for the services of the former First Team All-American.
