  • Tom Brady has decided to move on from the New England Patriots and move to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • The AFC East predictions have New England fall behind the New York Jets
  • The New York Jets have a promising season ahead with Sam Darnold as their quarterback

The New England Patriots have had one of the more unusual offseasons in their franchise as they enter the coming year without their star player. The legendary Tom Brady will not suit up for the Patriots and has caused a noticeable effect in the AFC East Predictions.

One impact the decision of Brady leaving for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers involved shaking up the Patriots franchise. For the past two decades, New England has benefited from Brady’s stellar career as the leader of their offense. The signal calling of Brady has led to six Super Bowl Championships and has always put the Patriots in the title conversation.

This year however changes all of that as Brady has moved on to Tampa Bay. To add to this, Brady brought along fellow Patriot star Rob Gronkowski with him to the Buccaneers. This leaves a lot of questions for New England and if they’re ready to move on with a new quarterback.

Head coach Bill Belichick has reportedly seen the potential in Jarrett Stidham. While it’s a promising thought, Stidham will have big shoes to fill in the coming year. In a recent prediction of the AFC East outcome, the Patriots fall behind the New York Jets in the standings.

It’s projected that the Jets will finish next year’s campaign with promising moves in the offseason. Per Yahoo Sports, notable players in their roster consist of players Mekhi Becton, George Fant, Greg Van Roten, Alex Lewis and Connor McGovern.

To add to these, quarterback Sam Darnold has been praised to be mobile on the field with his ability to play around pressure. It would be interesting to see how Darnold takes control of the field with the new landscape of the AFC East division.

Some experts see that the Jets will finish second place with a record of 9-7 in the standings. This slightly edges the Patriots as New England is expected to finish with an 8-8 slate. As these two teams fight head to head, the Buffalo Bills are anticipated to take the top spot at 11-5.

The unique season brings a new twist to an already competitive AFC East division.
