For the Oakland Raiders, having a reliable quarterback is a prime need. And from the looks of it, that honor will be on Derek Carr following the team's offseason activities. Although there were past reports that the Raiders were interested in rookie Kyler Murray, particularly coach Jon Gruden, all talks surrounding that seem to be nothing more but a bluff.

The Raiders hardly showed any indication that they were looking to line up quarterbacks in the offseason, a development that could further bolster the confidence of the 28-year-old Carr. This is aside from the fact that he has already spoken with Oakland Raiders management where all of them were reportedly on the same page, NFL.com reported.

Carr signed a five-year deal in 2017 worth $125.05 million. Although there could be sudden developments along the way, the second round pick of the Raiders during the 2014 NFL Draft seems to care less. Instead, Carr needs to find a way to lead the Raiders in their final season in Oakland before they move to Las Vegas in 2020, the Bleacher Report reported.

Carr will be looking to bounce back strong after failing to complete last NFL season due to a broken fibula. For Oakland to get back on track, the 28-year-old quarterback needs to recall the same form he had back in 2016 which gave the Raiders a 12-4 record. The ex-Fresno State star dominated to the tune of 28 touchdowns (to only six interceptions), a 63.8 percent completion rate and 7.5 adjusted yards per pass attempt, according to Pro Football Reference.

Looking at the new faces coming from the NFL Draft, Carr and the Raiders do have reason to be excited. Among the new faces include defensive end Clelin Ferrell, wideout Antonio Brown and safety Lamarcus Joyner. With a better supporting cast, Carr has plenty of reason to be excited this coming NFL season.

“A whole new group, new challenge of getting on the same page, and things like that. The one thing I’ve seen about this group is they work crazy hard," Carr said in an interview from Raiders.com.

"I'm not going anywhere. This is my team and it will be for the next however long I want to play," he added.
