NFL Star Dak Prescott's Dog Might Be Put Down After Biting Neighbor's Finger
Owning a dog requires plenty of effort and attention, even if you are a professional football player. Unfortunately, Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys may have overlooked that responsibility and such has resulted in a big mess for the NFL player.
According to TMZ Sports, one of Prescott's pit bulls reportedly escaped from his home in Frisco, Texas through an unsecured door. One of the dogs, Icon, made his way to the home of Beth Taylor. The pit bull ended up attacking Taylor's dog and eventually turned on her when she tried to break up the scuffle.
And while she was trying to do so, Taylor said that the Icon broke down the fence in her backyard and bit off her finger.
"I don't know if it's completely off," the 50-year-old said of the fingertip that was bitten. "There's something partially there. It's like from mid-finger nail. It's still there I think. It's just one half on."
Taylor was pleading for help at the time and said that the dogs were still prowling her front yard. She also added that her dog may have been injured after the attack.
According to the WFAA, Taylor lost part of her finger and was hospitalized for four days. Prescott was reportedly not at home when the whole thing happened.
Following the incident, Icon has already been quarantined at the local animal shelter. Prescott's dog is set to face a hearing to determine if he will be classified as a dangerous dog.
If he is deemed so, a possible punishment for Icon is the death penalty. The hearing is set for March 20 at a Frisco courthouse.
As of this writing, Prescott has yet to issue an official statement on the matter. Taylor was treated with injuries that were not considered life-threatening and no actual charges were filed as well.
The whole case puts a damper on Prescott who is reportedly set to get a contract extension between $27 to 30 million annually. After making a name for himself back in 2016, his performance has not exactly been the same. Hence, most are now divided on whether the 25-year-old deserves to get such a lucrative deal.
