KEY POINTS

  • Tom Brady has consistently shown his other side
  • Bengals running back Joe Mixon received a Brady autographed jersey
  • Brady once helped a radio host to have his job back after a disappointing incident

New England Patriots star quarterback Tom Brady received compliments for consistently showing his other side.

In NFL, the name Brady is already synonymous to “GOAT.” But what makes the Patriots superstar even greater is the fact that he has proven that he is more than just a football star.

Brady’s kindness is something that is not being measured nor shown on his stats. This is what veteran football columnist and The Patriot Ledger writer John Reilly recently suggested in his article. The piece aimed to refresh the memories of Brady’s fans about the genuine kindness of the NFL star by referring to him as a “role model.”

It will be remembered that in January 2018, a local radio sports talk show host kind of made an inappropriate remark about Brady’s 5-year-old daughter. Normally, a father will be fired up and immediately retaliate. But Brady was completely the opposite, and with every right to rage at a morning show he had appeared on and supported for years, he diplomatically addressed the “very disappointing” incident.

In fact, before the Super Bowl that year, Brady was asked about the incident once again. And to everybody’s surprise, the quarterback stated that he didn’t want to ruin the career of the guy responsible for the incident and by doing so, Brady opened the door for the return of that radio host.

“I certainly hope the guy is not fired. I would hate for that to happen. I think we all have careers and we all make mistakes. I’d hate for someone to have to change their life over something like that. It’s certainly not what he intended,” Brady said.

Last Christmas season, Brady once again proved that he is different from typical famous sports personalities. Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon received an autographed Brady jersey from the Patriots star himself.

Apparently, Brady knows how to keep his promise and definitely made Mixon’s Christmas special. Thrilled with what Brady has done for him, Mixon shared his excitement for the gift and his gratitude for Brady in a tweet.

“Man I say this in the most humbled way I’m so [blessed] to be playing this game,” Mixon said in the tweet with a picture attached of him holding the Brady signed jersey. Super thankful for the G.O.AT. , @TomBrady. Best Christmas gift ever,” Mixon wrote.

After fulfilling Mixon’s request, Brady revealed that he was once like Mixon and fully understood the running back’s feelings.

“That was pretty cool. I feel the same way about so many of these young players that inspire me,” Brady said of Mixon’s tweet during his weekly interview on WEEI’s “The Greg Hill Show.”

“There was a time when I was a young player and I looked up to so many guys and I just think now that I’m on the other end of it I understand kind of how it goes,” Brady continued.
