Kareem Hunt’s NFL career may be in turmoil nowadays, but his football career may still resume moving forward. Although unclaimed off waivers since being released by the Kansas City Chiefs, there are reportedly several teams who are waiting in the wings for him as he undergoes therapy and for the sanctions to be handed down by the league.

Hunt is still dealing with some off-field problems, particularly that one where he was captured on video shoving and kicking a woman in the hallway of a hotel in Cleveland. And it seems that this was not the only infraction of the running back, having been involved in a nightclub attack in Kansas City a month prior to that, Yahoo Sports reported.

As for the nightclub attack, Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt admitted that he was aware of the incident. It seems that this was one of the grounds that led them to release the Pro Bowl running back.

“We did know about all three of the incidents he’d had in the offseason. They’d all been reported to the NFL and the NFL was investigating,” he said.

But the latest unfortunate episode for Hunt is the one that occurred at the Cleveland hotel which went down in February. The 23-year-old football player was shown arguing with a 19-year-old woman who he eventually shoved. The female would retaliate by striking him in the face after which the scene turned ugly, as shown in the captured footage from TMZ Sports.

Hunt has submitted himself to a treatment and counseling program even as the NFL continues its investigation on his case. With multiple violent incidents this past year, Hunt will have a long way to go before he is seen back on the playing field, ESPN reported.

Had those violent off-field incidents not come up, Hunt would have been donning a new uniform. According to CBS Sports, there were several teams who had expressed interest in his services after being waived by the Chiefs. However, it seems that the current case of the former third-round pick of the 2017 NFL Draft may have come into play, forcing those said teams to put everything on hold.

And while these teams are still waiting, it will be interesting to see how long they will keep Hunt in mind. The counseling part is the start and more therapy is included. Also, yet to be added to the equation are the sanctions that the NFL will hand down – something that will further put his NFL career on hold.
