There continues to be speculation about Odell Beckham Jr.’s immediate future with the Cleveland Browns in the hours before Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline. The wide receiver isn’t expected to be moved during the 2021 season, despite suggestions that he might welcome a change of scenery.

Cleveland doesn’t plan on trading Beckham and hasn’t received any acceptable offers for the 28-year-old, according to ESPN’s Dianna Russini. The report came after Beckham’s father shared a lengthy video on social media that showed quarterback Baker Mayfield failing to connect with an open Beckham on various plays.

While that video went viral, so did LeBron James’ tweet about Beckham, which the Los Angeles Lakers’ star ended with the hashtag “FreeOBJ.”

Beckham had just one catch on one target for six yards in Cleveland’s 15-10 loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday. In six games this season, Beckham has a disappointing 17 receptions for 232 yards and no touchdowns.

Mayfield is currently hampered by a fracture and torn labrum in his non-throwing shoulder. The quarterback didn’t play in the Browns’ Week 7 victory, during which Beckham only had two catches.

Beckham has been in trade rumors at various points during his three seasons in Cleveland. The receiver hasn’t enjoyed nearly the same success since being dealt from the New York Giants, with whom he made three Pro Bowls and averaged 92.8 yards per game.

Cleveland is out of the latest playoff picture with a 4-4 record. The Browns entered the season with hopes of making a Super Bowl run, one season removed from winning their first playoff game in 26 years.
