Week 12 of the 2019 NFL season could feature a bunch of low-scoring games. A few elite defenses have a chance to slow down some of the league’s best quarterbacks. A couple of bad signal callers are set to have long days against top defensive units.

Below are the five best over/under picks in Week 12 with the latest betting odds at Las Vegas and online sportsbooks. Game totals are courtesy of OddsShark.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cincinnati Bengals Under 38

Twenty points should be more than enough to win this game. Pittsburgh’s offense has been responsible for 36 total points in the last three games. Mason Rudolph’s two best playmakers are likely to sit after both James Conner and JuJu Smith-Schuster left last week’s contest early. Ryan Finley might be the worst starting quarterback in the NFL. Cincinnati hasn’t scored more than 17 points since Oct. 6. The Steelers are fifth in yards allowed per play.

Carolina Panthers vs. New Orleans Saints Under 47

Kyle Allen has come crashing back down to earth. Since throwing four touchdown passes against the Cardinals’ 31st ranked defense in his 2019 debut, the quarterback has six touchdowns and nine interceptions. Allen has six fumbles in the last three games. Carolina has scored fewer than 17 points in three of their last four games. New Orleans is giving up an average of 16.7 points over its last seven games. The Saints scored 26 total points in their two meetings with the Panthers last season.

Dallas Cowboys vs. New England Patriots Under 45

The defending champions are likely to win the battle between Dallas’ top-ranked offense and New England’s No.1 defense. In two matchups with defenses that rank in the top 10 in opponents’ yards per play, the Cowboys have scored 32 total points. Only the Baltimore Ravens have scored more than 14 points against the Patriots. New England is 24th in yards per play. The Patriots have totaled 36 points in two meetings with winning teams.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Philadelphia Eagles Under 48

Philadelphia’s offense simply isn’t very good right now. The Eagles are averaging 18.6 points over their last five games as Carson Wentz continues to struggle. The quarterback hasn’t had a triple-digit passer rating with at least 175 passing yards since the season opener. Philadelphia’s defense has been much improved, allowing 17 points or fewer in three straight games. Keeping Russell Wilson in check won’t be easy, but this is unlikely to be a shootout.

Green Bay Packers vs. San Francisco 49ers Under 47.5

San Francisco has the NFC’s best defense, leading the conference in points allowed, yards allowed and opponents’ yards per play. Green Bay has scored 21 total points in their two road games against good defenses. Jimmy Garoppolo hasn’t proven to be more than an average quarterback, relying on the league’s No.2 rushing attack. Look for the 49ers to control the clock and keep Aaron Rodgers off the field in a relatively low-scoring affair.
