NFL Week 6 Predictions 2021: Best Over/Under Bets For Sunday Football Schedule
Week 6 isn’t projected to feature many low-scoring games. No contest on the schedule has a betting total below 42.5. More than one-third of the matchups have an over/under north of 51.
Here are the five best over/under bets for Week 6 of the 2021 NFL season. Betting odds come from FanDuel Sportsbook.
Kansas City Chiefs at Washington Football Team Over 55.5
Washington averages more than 55.5 total points in their games, and Kansas City leads the NFL with an average of 63.4 points scored between them and their opponents. That is unlikely to change as long as the Chiefs’ defense continues to be among the league’s worst. Patrick Mahomes is still a transcendent quarterback, leading an incredibly explosive offense. Washington has surrendered at least 29 points in four straight games, proving that last year’s success was the result of a very weak schedule.
Minnesota Vikings at Carolina Panthers Under 46.5
Kirk Cousins and Sam Darnold could be under constant pressure in this one. The Vikings and Panthers rank second and third, respectively, in team sacks. Minnesota’s constant mediocrity on the offensive line remains unchanged, while Carolina has been even worse at protecting their quarterback. Darnold has been sacked 14 times and is starting to look like the signal caller who struggled in New York. The Panthers and Vikings give up a combined 39.2 points per game.
Los Angeles Chargers at Baltimore Ravens Over 52
Justin Herbert and Lamar Jackson are arguably the top two MVP candidates through five weeks. The stage is set for the quarterbacks to put up big numbers in the Week 6 marquee matchup. Herbert is fourth in passing yards, taking on a Baltimore defense that ranks fourth-to-last in pass defense after suffering key injuries in the secondary to start the season. Jackson and the Ravens could run all over Los Angeles, which gives up a league-worst 5.6 yards per carry. Baltimore is first in total offense. L.A. ranks seventh.
Cincinnati Bengals at Detroit Lions Under 47.5
Neither side in any of Cincinnati’s five games has scored more than 24 points in regulation. Detroit is unlikely to surpass that mark, considering the Lions just lost starting center Frank Ragnow for the rest of the season and have failed to score 20 points in four straight games. Detroit has held three straight opponents to fewer than 25 points.
Dallas Cowboys at New England Patriots Under 51.5
The Patriots beat the Cowboys 13-9 at Gillette Stadium two seasons ago when Dallas led the NFL in total offense. Every New England game in 2021 has featured fewer than 48 points. The Patriots have played mostly close, low-scoring contests, even holding Tom Brady and the Bucs to just 19 points in the quarterback’s return to New England. The Cowboys scored fewer than 30 points in both of their road games.
Season Record: 12-13
