Nick Cannon has been in show business for two decades and continues to land gigs to this day. But how rich is the dad of seven?
Currently, Cannon has an estimated net worth of $30 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. The outlet estimated that he is earning $5 million annually.
The 40-year-old's latest role is the host and co-executive producer of Fox show “The Masked Singer,” a singing competition where celebrity contestants wear costumes to hide their identities and the weekly eliminated performer is unmasked. It is unclear how much he is being paid as host, a role he has held since 2019, but Cannon signed a massive overall deal with Fox last year, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Cannon started out as a stand-up comedian before making his TV debut on Nickelodeon's sketch comedy show, “All That,” in the late 1990s. The then-young star was also part of the rap group Da G4 Dope Bomb Squad.
Cannon’s first big-screen appearance was a minor role in “Men in Black II.” He later landed the lead role in the 2002 movie “Drumline” followed by the comedy “Love Don't Cost A Thing.” With his role in the 2006 film “Bobby,” he received the Breakthrough Actor of the Year Award at the Cannes Film Festival and a nod from the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Cannon landed the hosting gig of “America’s Got Talent” in 2009. He served as host until 2016, reportedly earning $70,000 per episode, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
He also ran the comedy sketch show “Wild & Out,” which aired on MTV for four seasons from 2005 to 2007. It was rebooted in 2012 with Cannon as the host.
Cannon tied the knot with Mariah Carey in 2008. The couple signed a prenuptial agreement prior to their wedding at the singer’s private estate on Windermere Island in The Bahamas so they kept the earnings they made during their six-year marriage after they split in 2014, Us Weekly reported.
Cannon and Carey finalized their divorce in 2016, with legal filings revealing that the TV host earned $2.7 million in 2014, TMZ reported. After their split, Cannon was given the title to a 2012 Ferrari and was required to pay a monthly $5,000 due as a trust for their twins, Monroe and Moroccan Scott, the report said.
He and Carey also sold a massive estate in Los Angeles’ Bel Air area for $9 million in 2015, Variety reported.
Last year, ViacomCBS, which aired his show “Wild & Out,” terminated its relationship with Cannon after he found himself in hot water over comments he made on his “Cannon’s Class” podcast that were interpreted as being anti-Semitic, Forbes reported. He also took time off his KPWR Power 106 show “Nick Cannon Mornings” as a result of the controversy.
Cannon later apologized for his comments and was allowed to remain as host of “The Masked Singer.”
Recently, Cannon’s rumored girlfriend, model Alyssa Scott, confirmed she gave birth to a baby boy. The newborn baby, Zen, is Cannon’s seventh child and his fourth in a year, People reported.
In addition to his 10-year-old twins with Carey, Cannon previously welcomed twin sons, Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir, with Abby De La Rosa on June 14. He also welcomed daughter Powerful Queen in December 2020 with Brittany Bell, with whom he also shares 4-year-old son Golden "Sagon."
