Nick Carter Accused Of Rape By Dream’s Melissa Schuman
Nick Carter is being accused of sexual assault by Dream member, Melissa Schuman.
The singer wrote a shocking tell-all on her blog about an incident that occurred when she was just 18 years old, and Carter was 22. According to Schuman, Carter invited her over to his house on their day off from a movie that they both starred in.
Schuman’s graphic recollection revealed that Carter performed oral sex on her despite asking him not to do anything. The singer said that she was a virgin at that time. Carter also urged Schuman to perform oral sex on him, and she obliged because she thought it was the only way she could get out of the situation.
But the incident did not end there. Schuman said that Carter took her to his bedroom and raped her. The 33-year-old singer said that she was encouraged to not file a case against Carter and was told that doing so could further humiliate her.
On Tuesday, Schuman penned a tweet to her fans and thanked them for their love and support throughout her healing. “I am free now,” she concluded her post. But as of late, Carter has not yet released a statement regarding Schuman’s claims.
The “Love Can’t Wait” singer’s most recent posts on Twitter were of his artworks and son, Odin Reign Carter. The former “Dancing With the Stars” contestant has been married to Lauren Kitt since 2014, according to Entertainment Tonight.
In the same year, the Backstreet Boys member spoke with Billboard about his struggles, but never once mentioned anything about sexually assaulting a woman. According to Carter, he was addicted to drinking and wanted to improve his lifestyle after being diagnosed with cardiomyopathy.
Around the same time, he met his wife through a blind date, and they instantly clicked. “And six years later, now I have someone that I truly love and care about, that I want to be the best for, that I want to be alive for. I want to be healthy. I just want to be there for her and be accountable to her, so she has been my rock,” he said.
